Wrestling CLASSES San Diego: Pacific Beach
Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that focuses on grappling and ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent to submit. When Jiu Jitsu is performed without the traditional uniform called the Gi, it is then considered Grappling or Submission Wrestling.

More about Jiu Jitsu grappling and submission wrestling:
Submission Wrestling is a sport which combines freestyle and catch wrestling in an attempt to maintain a top position at all times while working for a submission holds similar to but not always the same as Jiu Jitsu.
Grappling can most easily be compared to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, however without the traditional jacket and pants called the Gi. Grapplers unlike Submission Wrestlers are very comfortable from their backs vs. a top position the wrestler prefers. No-Gi Jiu Jitsu and Grappling is essentially the same thing.
No-Gi Submission Grappling classes in San Diego at Republic Training Center combines Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (while on your back), Submission Wrestling (while in a top position), Judo (for throws), Freestyle Wrestling (takedowns), Catch Wrestling (transitions and positions), Greco Roman (standup grappling) and other wrestling techniques.
